This is Alex Klein's attempt to solve what is arguably one of the most questionable underutilizations of an oboe in the entire repertory.

Charles Gounod's "Petite Symphonie" for 9 winds stands head and shoulders above most of the wind chamber music repertory as one of the most beautiful, delightful and representative works ever written, quickly embraced by all performers....with one exception: the second oboist.
