In 1997, during the International Double-Reed Society's Conference held in Chicago, Alex Klein performed the Mozart Oboe Concerto with the Chicago Symphony led by Christoph Eschenbach, a performance which was recorded live. These are the cadenzas used for that performance and which have been the basis for other Klein performances since then. There is a "bonus" for a second option in the short cadenza for the third movement.
